This fine art figure of a “saluki” is about 12 inches long. This sculpture consists of cast resin with a very thin layer of resin mixed with bronze powder. The surface has a bronze-like appearance when polished, but it cannot be welded or brazed.

It was severely damaged with multiple breaks in the legs. This was structural damage, not just cosmetic. If not for the aluminum wire running through the supporting legs, it would have been delivered in pieces. The client required a complete restoration. That is to say, she need it to be repaired in such a way that there be no evidence of the repair. First the aluminum was straightened, then the legs were made strong, then the surface was finished.

The saluki sits atop a trophy, the type that travels to whoever wins it, from one year to the next. Time was of the essence because the trophy had to be ready for the next competition and the date was fast approaching. This “fine art figure” restoration was completed on time and the client was extremely qualified.
